In the beautiful northern Vietnamese city of Hanoi, the Global Politics Spring School Vietnam kicked off on Monday with a day of introductions, a methodology workshop, a thought-provoking lecture and a magnificent formal dinner. Participants from Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Germany from different backgrounds have launched themselves into this intensive 11-day program, eager to grow their skills and benefit from vibrant discussions on current hot topics in Southeast Asian, European and global politics. During study breaks, the international group gets to explore surrounding areas.
GPSS Vietnam 2019 is jointly offered by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) of Vietnam National University-Hanoi (VNU) and the Center for Global Politics (CGP) of Freie Universität Berlin (FUB). In the spirit of regional academic cooperation, it is also partnered by the Cambodian universities Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC) who hosted GPSS last year. Funding has been generously provided by DAAD with funding from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research as well as by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Office Hanoi.
