Workshop Iran

July 8-21, 2016

Call for Applications: Global Politics PhD Workshop Iran 2016

"TEACHING IR: THE EU AND THE MENA REGION – PERSPECTIVES OF EUROPEAN AND IRANIAN SCHOLARS"

July 8-21, 2016 in Tehran (session period: July 9-20)

ORGANIZED BY

Center for Global Politics of the Freie Universität Berlin (FUB), in cooperation with Allameh Tabataba’i University (ATU), Tehran.

CURRICULUM

Both, Iran and Europe, are facing serious challenges in their regional contexts. Iran is involved in one way or another in defining its role in the MENA area, especially in the conflicts in and around Syria. Europe is facing a number of challenges, ranging from massive immigration flows over latent and real terrorism, a more assertive Russia, up to the possible Brexit, and rising populism on the continent. The workshop will take up these conflicts, but also opportunities, and look for similarities and differences in attitudes. We therefore invite researchers from Iran, Germany and other countries to exchange their views and ideas on these topics.
