GP Summer School Turkey

June 4 - 17, 2012 in Istanbul

Jointly offered by ELIAMEP Athens, Sabancı University Istanbul and the Center for Global Politics at Freie Universität Berlin



 

Curriculum

In seven to nine theory-based modules and a practice-oriented simulation game, each year's curriculum encompasses varying topics reflecting current developments and debates in global political and economic processes of the 21st century.

In 2011, course topics included the following:

  • New Approaches to Global Politics

  • The EU after Lisbon: Widening and Deepening

  • Issues in Global Governance

  • Turkish Politics and EU Relations

  • The EU after Lisbon: External Action from a Greek Perspective

  • Developments in Financial and Capital Markets

  • Migration: Issues and Policies in Europe

  • Simulation Game: European Asylum Policies


Students who successfully complete the Global Politics Summer School earn the equivalent of four credit points according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and are awarded a joint certificate of participation from  ELIAMEP, Sabancı University and Freie Universität Berlin.

 

Admission

Applicants to the Global Politics Summer School Turkey should be in the final year of their undergraduate studies or hold a first academic degree (B.A. or equivalent) in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, or a related field. An outstanding command of English is required.

 

Applicants should provide the following:

  • statement of purpose outlining the Summer School’s relevance for the student's academic development and career
  • transcripts of former academic achievements
  • other relevant documents, e.g. English language diplomas or letters of recommendation
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
 
 
 

 

The next admission period starts on February 13 and ends April 13 2012.
