Curriculum

In seven to nine theory-based modules and a practice-oriented simulation game, the currciculum encompasses varying topics reflecting current developments and debates in global political and economic processes of the 21st century.

The course titles for this year's summer school will be published here soon.

In 2011, course topics included the following:
  • New Approaches to Global Politics
  • Issues in Global Governance
  • The EU after Lisbon: Widening and Deepening
  • The EU after Lisbon: The Greek Perspective
  • Turkish Politics and EU Relations
  • Developments in Financial and Capital Markets
  • Migration: Issues and Policies in Europe
  • Simulation Game: European Asylum Policies
 

Students who successfully complete the Global Politics Summer School Turkey earn the equivalent of four credit points according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and are awarded a joint certificate of participation from ELIAMEP, Sabanci University and Freie Universität Berlin.

  • 1,5 hours of evaluation
  • Compulsory readings
  • Active participation in classes
  • A 15 minutes presentation in one session
  • Minutes of another  session (about 600 words)
  • A short essay (about 1000 words)
